Other Education & Photography Opportunities
CAPA Bonus Speakers Series
As you may remember from last year, besides our own excellent lineup of education evening speakers, we were also able to offer members the chance to join in a special series of educational presentations featuring some excellent speakers and put together by CAPA.
We are thrilled that this year we are again able to offer this popular series.
The speakers are normally beyond the budget of most individual photo clubs, however as we are joining in with other BC and Yukon clubs, we are able to combine resources. This series will partially be funded by CAPA and the remainder of the cost will be shared by participating clubs.
There is no charge to members as the club will be covering the cost of this CAPA series, however, you will need to pre-register for this presentation
As we receive other opportunities they will posted on this page.
Some of the other opportunities may involve costs at your own expense.
Victoria Camera Club sends us links to their online events and we present them here as a courtesy to VCC.

A Photo Opportunity – Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon "The Club has been approached by the organizers of the First Annual Sovereign2SilverStar Ski Marathon race which will take place April 2 and 3, 2022. The organizers are interested in some images that they can use for future promotional purposes and they will, in turn, help us find accessible and picturesque locations to shoot the action. They would like to know whether there is enough interest in the Club to make this happen. They have also approached COPS (the Central Okanagan Photographic Society in Kelowna) For members who are keen skiers, they are also interested in a few photographers who can head out to mountainous locations like the Back Bowl to grab some dramatic shots with mountain vistas. The races start at 8:30 and 9:15 each day (Classic on day 1 and Free/Skate on day 2). The Start location is Sovereign and the finish is in the village at SilverStar. The first finishers will take about an hour and the slowest about 6 hours. Check out the website for the event (http://www.sovereign2silverstar.com/). If there is interest, we will provide more details in the coming weeks. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send an email to Bob Johnson [email protected] |
